This hostel has been named after late Prof. D.S. Kothari who was an outstanding teacher, a great educationist and a renowned physicist. He was awarded with the ‘Padma Bhushan’ in 1962 and ‘Padma Vibhushan’ in 1973. The D. S. Kothari Hostel was established in 1997. It has 40 double seated rooms and 19 single seated rooms for Men with a capacity of 99 seats for PG, M.Phil and Ph.D Programmes of the University of Delhi. Tucked in the Kamla Nehru Ridge near the University Road, it is a popular hostel known for its peaceful, multicultural and vibrant academic spaces for students from different part of India and abroad.
